The 3rd Annual Day at Billabong High International School Kelambakkam themed ‘The Colour Splash’ was conducted with great enthusiasm from the entire BHIS K family consisting of students, teachers and the parents. It brought out the best of sporting talents in the students and also established the sports governance practices for teachers and students.
On 4th February Saturday, the school grounds brimmed with energy and determination as students were ready to showcase their various leagues of action. The school’s Chairperson Mr.Yasir Nainar and Principal & Director, Ms.Asma Nainar welcomed the Chief guest Mr.Lakshman Rohith Maradappa, an International Rower and a multiple Asian Games Medalist. They also extended their hearty welcome to the Parent Guest of Honour Mr Abdul Wahid and Mrs Nikhat Nafees.
The Chief Guest took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with rolling drum beats and striking music by the school marching band. This was the first sports day of the school where the band displayed its professional skills. The children of the school honoured the Chief Guest and guest of honour with bouquet while the dignitaries of the school management presented the guests with a memento as a token of love. The students descended into the soul of the occasion in a magnificent way by singing the school song, taking oath of sportsmanship administered by the Sports captain. The Olympic torch was lit and the Sports day was declared open by the Chief Guest.
Impressive displays of Karate, Human pyramid and Mass drills by Kindergarten, Primary students coupled with unique Rhythmic Lezium filled the atmosphere with joy and tons of appreciations for the young sports participants. The track events added zeal and enthusiasm to the fiery perseverance and sportsmanship of the students. Parents had their share of fun by participating in the Parent event organized for them. The Sports Day ended with loads of awards and appreciation for the participants and prize winners.
